“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ― Howard Thurman

The Problem

  • 80% of college-bound graduating high school students have yet to choose a major before arriving on campus (Dr. Fritz Grupe, founder of MyMajors.com)
  • The average college student changes majors three times (Dr. Fritz Grupe, founder of MyMajors.com)
  • According to the College Board, roughly 40% of those who start a four-year degree program still have not earned one after year six!

With tuition averaging $18,000 or higher in 2012-2013 at public universities, and much higher at private universities, indecisiveness can drain college savings accounts as students restart course sequences or transfer schools – losing credits in the process. Ultimately the result is that the student extends their college days beyond the four years parents planned to finance.

William Damon, Stanford School of Education professor and psychologist, says this in his book the Path to Purpose:

“What is missing in the majority of today’s youth, causing many of them to drift and flounder, is a sense of purpose – intrinsic, sustaining and noble purpose.”

Our Mission

PurposeCast ™ aspires to help students and young adults realize the Truth that they have been uniquely created with gifts and talents; capable of greatly impacting their world in a way that no one else will be able to do in quite the same way.

We seek to help these young adults “cast” a vision for their lives; discover their strengths, passions and life values; and to match the combination of those attributes with possible areas of service; ideal areas of impact; and possible courses of study and careers that will provide them a vehicle in which to live purposely and fully.
